Note: This universal mechanism may differ slightly from the original one. Proper adjustments during installation are necessary to ensure functionality.

Tools Required:

  • Drill
  • Wood screws
  • Wrench set
  • Measuring tape

Step 1: Preparing for Installation

  1. Remove the old mechanism from the recliner.
  2. Identify the bolt or screw locations on the seat frame.
  3. Ensure that the new mechanism does not interfere with the original bolt or screw positions.

Step 2: Reusing Original Parts

  1. Check the old mechanism for reusable parts, such as:

    • Connection bars
    • Springs
  2. Most of these parts are standard and can be used with the new mechanism.

Step 3: Positioning the New Mechanism

  1. Place the new mechanism on the seat frame.
  2. Move it back and forth to find the correct position where it reclines smoothly without touching the frame.
  3. Mark the final position.

Step 4: Securing the Mechanism

  1. Use wood screws to mount the mechanism onto the seat frame.
  2. Double-check that the reclining function operates smoothly without obstruction.

Step 5: Adjusting the Footrest Board

  1. Check the position of the footrest board on the new mechanism.
  2. Move the board up or down to avoid the original bolt or screw locations.
  3. Once properly positioned, secure the footrest board using wood screws.

Final Check:

  1. Test the reclining function multiple times to ensure smooth operation.
  2. Verify that all screws are securely fastened.
  3. Ensure there are no obstructions or misalignments.
